About Me

Hello! I’m Christina — wife, mama to two boys, homemaker, homeschooling mama, and heart behind The Sacred and Ordinary.

This space was born out of a season of deep change — when motherhood, identity, and life all shifted at once. I found myself overwhelmed, wondering who I was and how to move forward.

When my first son, Elijah, was born in 2019, I spent that first year like many new moms — overwhelmed at times, but completely in awe of the little boy I had been given to love. We lived in a tiny 480-square-foot apartment in Los Angeles, learning how to sleep train, adjusting to part-time work, and slowly finding our rhythm. By his first birthday, I felt like I could finally see what life might look like moving forward.

But- then came 2020, and as i’m sure it did for you too-everything changed.

The world shut down with COVID, my father unexpectedly was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and after only three months of us trying to save him, he passed away. I closed the business I had poured five years into, and my husband and I made the life-altering decision to move across the country — from California to Connecticut — to start over.

When the dust finally settled, I found myself in unfamiliar territory: grieving, homesick, navigating a new culture, and trying to build a home while raising my son with intention. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to be “a stay at home mom”. I didn’t know who my friends were or even who I was anymore. And yet, even in the upheaval- and especially now looking back, I could see God’s hand — gently leading me, revealing beauty in unexpected places, and weaving sacred purpose into the most ordinary moments.

After 4 years of developing a new community, having another beautiful son (with his own miraculous and unexpected story- but that for another time), I started finding healing, purpose, and feeling like “myself again”- although this time the me I discovered was transforming and finding a deep peace that I had never known.

In between sleepless nights, sticky counters, and many many prayers, I began to see it: the sacred woven into the ordinary. Maybe not as the world sees, but as the Lord was showing me. The quiet beauty of faithful motherhood. The healing rhythm of home. The joy of choosing purpose in the small things, to help find freedom and new life after the rug has been pulled from under you, and even heal a broken childhood I came from.

God began planting seeds I never expected. In the quiet moments of grief and rebuilding, I was drawn deeper into His Word and felt a strong pull toward walking alongside others in their pain. I discovered a love for creating beauty through hospitality, events, and making my home my favorite place to be. I am now a homeschooling mama, something I also never thought I would do but am so grateful for. Things I once saw as simple interests began to feel like sacred tools — ways to serve, to welcome, to heal, and to reflect God’s creativity. Those challenges didn’t just break things apart — they uncovered passions and purposes I didn’t know were within me.

The most important part of this was realizing that taking care of my children, and home, and what often feels like mundane tasks- was actually a form of worship. That each dish that was washed, each meal that was prepared, and diaper thats changed, is for the glory of the Lord. A friend of mine once shared the quote with me- “If you want to chance the world, go home and love your family”- Mother Theresa.

I had been looking at my purpose all wrong. I had been trying to find my identity outside of the gifts I had been given. I had wondered what God had for me, outside of the spaces right in front of me. The true beauty was woven into the very thing I often struggled to find purpose in. The Lord saw me. The Lord sees you too, mama. This shift was the very thing that allowed me to fall in love with what was right in front of me- caring for family, my home, and doing the everyday “ordinary” with deep purpose.

Now, I write to encourage other women like you — women seeking grace, rhythm, and meaning in the everyday. To not have to do any of this alone. Here you’ll find stories, resources, and reminders that the work you’re doing matters deeply — even when it feels hidden. My hope is this space serves as a comforting place where mothers can find support, inspiration, and practical advice.

Let’s walk together in faith, savor the slow moments, and build homes full of peace, purpose, and joy.
